I am a 26 yo male and always had cold and purple feet, even hands actually, when it is not summer, sometimes to the point where I cannot sleep.
I had raynaud's syndrome on my fingers [all yellow/white] last year when I still was in my cold flat, but fortunately, I moved out.
Lots of posts here talk about iodine but I eat seafood daily, veggies, no junk-food at all.
Is there some feedbacks on the classical herbs for venous insufficiency like
It's not just about iodine, but salt. Are you salting your food? Hands/feet being cold point to low blood pressure, poor circulation, or possibly hypothyroid (hence, the iodine). Cod, sea bass, haddock, and perch are (from what I can remember) some of the better sources of iodine, as well as sea weed, but many people do find they have to take an iodine supplement if they have thyroid issues. Have you had this checked out? I would make sure other possibilities are eliminated before trying herbal infusions.
I've had the cold purple feet thing my whole life. Exercise helps. Hot showers before bed help. Wearing socks to bed after the hot shower really helps.
When I was a teenager, drinking coffee with lots of cayenne pepper in it seemed to help a little.
As an adult I've had some success with a few things red wine was my instant fix for that for many years, especially gluhwein aka mulled wine, dilates the blood vessels like crazy.
I've taken an iodine supplement for years now, but haven't noticed that it helps that much with the cold feet. The real fix for me has been a high enough dose of Armour thyroid. I'd highly recommend getting your thyroid tested.
