There seems to be so many new Paleo blogs and Paleo cookbooks in the past year, I was wondering if anyone has found any really outstanding dishes that are so good they plan to incorporate them into this year's Thanksgiving feast. Please provide a link if you can!

What are some new dishes you've made that you now plan to serve? Or what is one of your old favorites that is so tasty you could not imagine Thanksgiving without it?

Great Question!!! I'm in the process of convincing my family to have a COMPLETELY Primal/Paleo Thanksgiving. – Nick Oct 20 at 14:00

I'm planning on adding this to the menu... Haven't tried it yet but I love butternut squash!

Looks good! I just cooked some butternut in the slow cooker tonight, too. – PinkPika Oct 20 at 3:19

I'll make a roasted pumpkin puree, which is pumpkin, a little coconut oil, salt and curry powder. It's nice to use pumpkin for a savory dish instead of desert.

I hadn't thought to do that with pumpkin, thank you. I had switched sweet potato to a savory dish... hadn't thought of the pumpkin! – PinkPika Oct 20 at 4:07

Holidays for my family are mostly centered around snacking all day. So I've found recipes for butternut squash dip, buffalo chicken meatballs, nut-crusted bacon that I'm going to try. I've also been experimenting with a savory pumpkin casserole of my own creation. Need to attempt a few more versions before the big day.

If the buffalo chicken meatballs turn out well, can you post a link please? – PinkPika Oct 20 at 17:24
Not my invention, but I've tried these out: ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/02/… – Matt Oct 20 at 17:54
I just came across those randomly on Pinterest a minute ago and came right back here to post the link to see if they were the ones... and you had already replied... and they are! Cool. Thank you. – PinkPika Oct 20 at 21:05

I am making a modified sweet potato casserole. roasted sweet potatos, rind of two large oranges, juice of two oranges but I will simmer them to concentrate the flavors. cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, cream, coconut oil maybe to get the consistancy I want. Possibly two eggs to firm it up and then roasted pecans (roasted with butter and maple syrup) sprinkled on top.

6 large sweet potatoes (like restaurant baked potato size) rinds of two navel oranges juice of two navel oranges (concentrated by simmering until sticky) 1 stick of butter 1/4 cup cream coconut oil to correct consistancy spices to taste two eggs 2 c roasted pecans (butter and maple syrup)

bake 350 for 45 min. adding pecans in last 10 min or so of baking. Let sit for 15-20 min before serving for it to firm up and cool.

Thanks! I love the idea of concentrating the juice. – PinkPika Oct 20 at 17:24
