Did you use the dry goods container and tamper? – PhysiqueRescue Oct 24 at 18:15

You can go medieval with a mortar and pestle. Grinders and blenders might just give you a powder.

They are sold all over America. I've seen them in kitchen supply stores, Mexican markets, Asian markets, etc. – MathGirl72 Oct 24 at 15:15
Yeah, they are very easy to find and you can get marble ones that are smooth or concrete/basalt ones that are rough. It'll be a slow and painful process, let me tell ya! – Diane Oct 24 at 15:47
any they are cheap -- amazon.com/s/… – CD Oct 24 at 15:59

I use my blender, but a food processor might help if you are making really small batches (or a coffee grinder?).

Here's my favorite recipe swap out the vegetable oil for olive oil: http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/fullplate/2009/11/faking-it--pumpkin-seed-puree.html

I use a mini-food processor that came as an attachment to my stick blender. I tried my full-sized food processor, but that didn't work very well.

Black & Decker makes an inexpensive stand-alone mini processor that my MIL used for years. – MathGirl72 Oct 24 at 14:54
so you use your mini-food processor specifically at times for grinding seeds? i just dont see how that would do it but a blender would not? – jake Oct 24 at 15:02

The blades are shaped differently in a food processor. The mini's blades are flat and very low and can catch the seeds. – MathGirl72 Oct 24 at 15:07

I was wondering if the pumpkin seeds had to be shelled/dehulled?

I never have. I soak, season, and roast the seeds, then grind them up. My hubby likes to dip carrots into it. – MathGirl72 Oct 25 at 0:49
awesome, thanks mathgirl! – lc875 Oct 25 at 2:18
