I, too, work in marketing, but any paying work I've had on that front has been not Paleo-related. I write for Paleo Magazine, 2 blogs, and participate in a collaborative podcast, but aside from the magazine gigs, nothing Paleo actually pays me money.
I've been in this community for two years and I can say that the pickings are slim out there. Everyone is trying to carve out a niche for themselves and become a guru of sorts, whether that's through coaching, cookbooks, advice books, or whatever. In my opinion, the ones who are successful (Chris Kresser, Diane Sanfilippo, Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson, etc.) are attaching the blogs, books, and podcasts to a service they already provide, perhaps with the exception of Sisson, who seems to be wealthy through other means and this is his retirement plan. But even then, I'm not sure anyone's able to quit their day jobs, even with NY Times bestsellers.
Which is all to say that there may not be anyone (yet) to hire you. You may have to carve out your own thing. In my experience, the if-you-build-it-they-will-come model isn't the worst one out there as long as you are patient and don't burn out before recognition happens. It's taken me nearly two years to get this far, and Paleo ain't paying my bills yet, probably never will.
So it all depends on how you want to do this. But if you're looking to get hired on somewhere? You're either too early or too optimistic. I don't think it exists yet. :/
