unless your planning on using your next vacation to travel to the moon i think this is pretty pointless.

I am sorry because my answer is going to be kind of negative but I still want to answer this question. Actually, it is not even an answer, it is a rant. It is not against you, don't take it personally, it is against humanity as a whole. Mostly men because their testosterone is behind this whole thing. Here it goes:

What the hell did we lose in space? Precious metals because we cannot buy them from China? There is no oil in our Solar System, as far as I know. So they are going to waste taxpayer's money to analyze hundreds of urine samples? How about trying to clean up our planet a little for a change? If anything, we need LESS PROGRESS - and we should start with basics. We can't even find any clean water in the nearby stream - everything is so polluted. We can't even buy fish that is mercury-free. Ocean has so much plastic - all men will develop breasts by the year 2050.

I have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in any person who lives on our glorious planet earth.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: we need to take care of our planet. It is our only home."

I have a dream that one day on the green hills of some former desert the sons of former Coca-cola corporation and the sons of former McDonalds owners will be able to sit down together and eat a Paleo meal and drink fresh spring water from a nearby lake.

I have a dream that one day even the Sahara desert, a place sweltering with heat, will be transformed into an oasis with trees and flowers.

I have a dream that all our little children living on earth will one day live on a planet where they will have an access to raw milk, grass-fed meat and organic fresh leafy green vegetables.

I have a dream that one day, down in any state, with its vicious USDA lobbyists, with their governors having their lips dripping with high fructose corn syrup; one day right there in the United States of America, little boys and girls will be able to break free from their vicious sugar addiction.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one Halloween night instead of giving kids some horrible candy that will wreck their gut flora and spike their insulin levels people will give out books or pens and pencils and it is going to be accepted.

This is our hope.

We should not be going to space and collecting urine samples. We should clean up the mess we have made here, on earth, first.

I can't even guess how it will be helpful, but I think a lot of our technological advancement has come via the space program so who knows.

It will add to the data set that we have...thats all that can really be said. From an academic standpoint it could provide an interesting perspective in generating hypothesis that we can test here on earth. How much that may be applicable to our lives here on earth is obviously an unknown.....but ANY data that improves our understanding of the human organism is obviously beneficially. Currently the recommendations on bone loss are...1) weight bearing exercise 2) protein 3) calcium/magnesium/K2......at least from my perspective. Lets see what they got though!
