Hey.
Now, First off I should clarify where I am at(Germany). I can probably quote and link with the best of them with 2 weeks worth of a dozen paleo blogs read, paleohacks perused and reddit browsed. Ironically enough, apparently all this will do is show me that nobody knows anything for sure, and there is more fumbling in the dark than in a "7 minutes in heaven" session. Sadly. Various PH question threads reflect this confusion, too.
Nonetheless, I have embarked on a normal( = not auto-immune protocol, I still eat tomatoes, butter, spices, etc) paleo diet, which currently mostly means pork, broccoli, savvoy cabbage, spinach tuna, grassfed butter, sauerkraut, liverwurst, chicken legs, bacon and eggs. No sugars, no gluten / no wheat of any kind, no dairy. This is now 10 days ago.
I have a normal, healthy BMI (70-75kg at 176cm), only moderate belly fat(pants waist size 30-31) and work out regularly. Before this 10 day spree of paleo, I have drunk and loved milk all my life. Not once did I feel bloated, nauseous, gassy or anything of the like. And when I say drink milk, I mean it. Like at least 1 liter per day, which, apparently, nobody else does(I guess they prefer sodas and coffee..). I also never had a problem with cheeses or magerquark ("curd cheese" I guess? The one with nearly no fat, but high in protein, casein).
So it was quite a bit of a sacrifice to no longer drink milk with my meals, although I guess with the abandoning of my pure oat flakes, I no longer really needed milk per se.
The reason I cut it out right away with all the rest were my allergies and various PH threads saying cutting out dairy helped folks with them. My psoriasis is very mild, mostly knuckles, elbows and placeIdontwannasay, but bad enough that I'd like to lose it(if stretching your knuckles in winter means getting bloody knuckles, thats just not a nice thing to have). Same with the dust mite allergy. I got a prick test from my HNO (throat-nose-ear specialist) that went rather red on dust mites(DERP or whatever, funnily enough) proving as much. I've got my encasings and all the other pamphlet BS, but it still means sleep that doesn't get you up well rested, stuffy nose, red eyes and just plain being irritated all day while at home. So definitely something I want to lose.
After these first 10 days I already feel a little bit better, though I still sneeze a little bit and my psoriasis seems the same. My eyes may or not be less red, I need to watch that some more.
TL;DR: My biggest thing simply is: I've read various people say they had real trouble reintroducing dairy after their initial 30 days / "base level" or whatever phase, but several also reported that putting dairy back into their diet actually helped them feel better. Now, not even Harris seems to like milk, and at best I can find pro-raw-milk arguments(which, given the risks of various bacteria etc pp I'd rather skip) or some for "milk type B"(goats, certain kinds of cows before they "mutated" I guess). Should I indulge in my usual (pasteurized, maybe even the evil A type)milk if I never in my life tangibly had any direct bad effects, or am I being too simplistic in my argument, as dairy may still be the prime source for my allergy susceptability?
I worry I might "lose" one of my closest yum-yum drink friends forever and live a life of bored-to-numbness, tasteless water drinkety(and no, I don't like tea or cofee, they all suck).
The one and only reason I am doing paleo is to rid me of the allergies in the first place.
