What paleo food items do you buy from Costco? Looking for help with grocery lists. Thanks!
My last few hauls have included:
I used to buy all my meat and produce at Costco but not any more. The one I go to in NH does not sell grass-farmed beef nor any other naturally-raised critter products and rarely has organic produce. I think I'm not going to renew it this year. Of course for not-food things they're great but I don't buy much "stuff" aside from cheap clothing I've needed lately because all my old stuff is ginormous.
What annoys me about them is reading that someone is getting grass-farmed ground beef there, but the stores seem to vary pretty widely in their offerings. THe NH store had the ground beef for maybe two months then stopped selling it.
It's also vexing that they sell frozen lobster imported from Brazil, yet Maine's finest are maybe an hour away. Most of the fish is farmed, all the frozen shrimp are farmed too. Blech. No thanks, trying to cut down on the parasites, feces, antibiotics and heavy-metals.
Maybe I should go to one closer to Boston, probably more of a demand for it there.
Oh, and I just chewed a piece of broken glass in the grass-farmed ground beef I got from Whole Foods... nice job there guys. I split my meat & produce Between them, Trader Joes (lots of wild seafood, hit or miss on grass-farmed cow) and online sources of frozen stuff.

What I typically buy from Costco:
their wild caught fish is seasonal, though i haven't seen the wild caught salmon in a while. we've been using the wild caught cod instead. definitely can't control ourselves with the macadamia nuts. otherwise: berries, salad greens, kerrygold butter, occasional bulk nuts, magnesium, fish oil, cheese, wine, and flowers :)
I recently purchased grass-fed bison steaks from Costco. Deliscious!!!! Also got some wild-caught sole, organic chicken fed vegetarian diet (but not sure if pastured). It's apple season and I got some deliscious organic Fugi apples.
