I've een on the paleo diet for about 4 months now and have had nothing but great results, i'm twenty years old, 145 lbs and about 8 - 9% body fat... and despite eating 5 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, sausage, and a banana for breakfast, I always get hungry about two and a half hours later. Is there something else I should be eating, or should I just increase the amount of food? I ride my bike to work every day and exercise on average 2.5 hours a day on top of that.
Thanks in advance!!
In the past I would always wake up with not much appetite and eat breakfast anyway.... I would be ravenously hungry a couple hours later. Didn't seem to matter what kind of breakfast it was.
Now I generally skip breakfast altogether, apart from one rich coffee with some high fat cream or coconut oil. I really don't start to get hungry at all until lunchtime. 3-5 hours after awakening.
Then I ran across this: http://www.leangains.com/2012/06/why-does-breakfast-make-me-hungry.html
A relief to know that skipping breakfast maybe isn't so 'bad' after all? Food for thought, but not for everyone I'm sure.
Intermittent fasting in general makes sense to me as a time to let the stomach shut down, so the digestive system isn't always working on something new.
Other than that I would say if you need two breakfasts, then eat two breakfasts! And I agree with those who said to skip the banana. Starchy, sugary, highly modified...I would eat them sparingly.
