Has anyone had these? I seem to have all 4 but have found some things that help.
It all started when I was under stress for a whole year, then had bilaterial hernia surgery repair then got sick with a upper respiratory infection (took antibiotics) and then started getting tinea versicolor a month later, chronic hives 2 months later, and chronic tendonitis 5 months later. Then I got stomach ulcers from NSAIDs (only took like 5) for tendonitis (which didn't help btw). Started getting brain fog, can't sleep when hungry or unless its bed time(no matter how tired I am).
My TPO antibodies are 600+ TSH is either 1.7 or 2.7 (it jumped that high in a month so I just got it retested monday to double check because they were done at differnt labs)
Here are things that help:
Chronic tendonitis: If I start feeling pain, lay off for a while and ice until it goes away. I've literally had tendonitis in 30 places in my body, all seems to be tendons connected to muscle. Massage helps, I feel sore the next day or two, but then feel better.
Chronic Hives Lay off histamine foods (Yogurt, pinapple, non fresh ground meat)
Tinea Versicolor I think a combination of probiotics, going gluten free, and nizoral applied topically has made almost gone
Other notes : I have had my appendix taken out; which research is starting to consider it replenishing good bacteria in digestive tract. Also think it could be adrenal fatigue.
What are your experiences with these conditions?
Texas, I wanted to respond earlier but had to do research on the tinea versicolor and Hashimoto to see what they were. But you may have diagnosed a hyper pigmentation problem I've been wrestling with for a while now! Hashimotos I may or may not have, so many generalized symptoms.
Anyway, I'm in TX too and earlier this year, I seemed to have had a health crisis where I developed chronic rashes and hives, possibly from gluten, shellfish, sulfites, nightshades, etc. Also has tendinitis where my left elbow became disabled almost overnight and sciatica where I could not sleep on my side. I was also swelling up and had to completely stop wearing rings. This came after about a year of constantly being on antihistamines for seasonal allergies and antibiotics for respiratory infections. Wasnt sure if I turned into my mother overnight or if I was really stressed. I'm in my mid 40s but have always enjoyed great health prior to moving to central tx.
Anyway, I cut out gluten six months ago and felt a little better. I found Paleo about 3 months ago and started feeling a lot better. Haven't lost much weight, only 5 lbs or so but I wasn't overweight to start. Getting better definition and leaning out a bit with Primal workouts.
autoimmunity, hives, tendonitis (which may actually be myofascial trigger points)...all of which I've experienced for many years. IMO it's all related to gut health, a leaky gut and your gut flora. if y ou have alot of food intolerances, hives, gut problems etc...try avoiding fibers and fix your leaky gut. I simply cut out FODMAPS and most fibers/starches, and went with a Paleo carnivorous diet for a few weeks (similar to the introductory GAPS diet) and it really fixed my bowel problems as well as my hives. My 2 cents.
If the antibiotic you took was a fluoroquinolone, then you might have had a reaction to it. They cause damage to tendons, ligaments—basically all connective tissue. This might be the reason you're afflicted with tendonitis throughout your body.
