today i went to mcdonald's for the first time in months and got a quarter pounder with cheese without the bun (yeah yeah dairy isn't very paleo) and some fries. it made me a little gassy but i forgot how sinfully delicious fast food can be.

i sometimes get the bowl without rice at chipotle. that's pretty good

come on now, a meat patty and fries from mcdonald's is paleo? not in my book.

it's meat and potatoes which are the definition of paleo – Jonas Dec 11 at 18:50

i wish it was just meat, and just potatoes. we can start with the rancid soybean oil, and it just gets uglier from there. – jake Dec 11 at 19:29

Agreed. Sorry but fast food is just the antithesis of the paleo movement. I may get pounded for this but my take is that it's all about striving for whole healthy foods prepared in the freshest possible ways :) at home in a happy setting (that's my opinion) – YoungPaleoLover Dec 12 at 0:38

Yes, chipotle, I do steak, double steak, salsa, guac and SOMETIMES sour cream.

Otherwise, I'd go for a better place than McD's for a burger, if you can. Restaurant, probably

The rotisserie chickens from the grocery store have become my go-to fast food. Not perfect, but better and just as "fast" as actual fast food joints.

i don't think any fast food places have paleo options since i do grass fed, organic only. i would never risk it with conventional meat.

Another Chipotle fan here. If I must get a quick burger on the road, I prefer Five Guys when I can find it. Sometimes I get a protein plate from Starbucks.

Hoping Elevation Burger (organic, grass-fed) will keep expanding in my state -- they're still a little too far away. But at least 4 local restaurants now have grass-fed steaks and/or burgers, which is nice, although they're all expensive.

Five Guys was nice enough to wrap my bacon burger up in a ton of lettuce for me. It was good solid lettuce too, not the flimsy chopped up stuff at McDonald's. Nice fresh toppings all around, actually. Five Guys gets my vote for most paleo fast food for burgers (although the peanuts they have out are a little too tempting, and they do fry everything in peanut oil). – Joseph S. Dec 12 at 0:20
Yes! Some of the stores seem surprised by the request but will still do it, others are used to it. In N Out Burger will also do a lettuce wrap ("protein style") but I suspect their meat isn't as good as 5 Guys. – Robin Dec 12 at 1:20

Chipotle salad or bowl with steak, onions, peppers, and dressing of salsa and guacamole.

We also like sushi and eat it weekly, but only on workout days. You can get sashimi too, that is really good. This is what we consider fast food. – Holly Dec 11 at 21:36

Chipotle, FTW. I also like Jason's Deli, very good salad bar and they use organic ingredients.

Yay Jason's! They really do try. – January Dec 12 at 4:45

El Pollo Loco's chicken, sans tortillas. Sometimes I will get the combo with their veggies. They used to be frozen, but they now use fresh and are steamed crisp-tender.

I know it's hard to always prepare meals but I get chikfila grilled nuggets with fries they don't cook their fries with other gluten products I've heard and of course chipotle

I think they cook their food in peanut oil though. – PrimalFit-D Dec 11 at 18:55
