I got some wonderful grains from a seller on Amazon. Be sure to read the reviews. He got very good reviews and it turns out they were well-deserved. The grains I received were quite vigorous, and he included shipping in the price so they were reasonable--I think it cost me all of $6 and we have had a steady and constant supply of kefir since. Craig's list local listing for kefir grains were $15 and above.

If you don't find someone local, you can order them online. I bought mine from The Kefir Company. They are in the UK but they deliver.

Thanks for your comment, I was going to buy them online but hear sometimes they really vary on getting good ones or not even if you order from the same place. – texas210 Dec 14 at 23:16

Janknitz, I am in your area and I am looking for grains. I am not sure how to message you off list. Do you have grains to share at this time? Phoebe
