So I am almost 23, just graduated college in May and have gone from being a party animal to eating paleo for the past 5 months and drinking once on a blue moon. Some of my friends are visiting this weekend and heck, I've been stressed out from work so I owe it to myself to enjoy a night of going out. Can you share with me what would be the best paleo drink choice? I heard alot about this NorCal Margarita, but was curious about vodka? Also, what are the best mixers? Any feedback would be great!

Water. Water is the best drink ever. Besides that, if you do Primal Blueprint, Mark says red wine. |

im in the same boat, i've got social commitments a lot of the time... red wine and tequila with soda water and limes squeezed in are my go-tos. i just make sure that i don't get drunk enough to make bad dietary choices or a hangover, and it hasn't really hindered me too bad as long as i get back to paleo when i wake up. |

Wine or cider make the most sense to me; as fermented fruit drinks, their origins have to be pretty ancient! Apparently other animals eat/drink fermented fruit too. |

Top shelf (read: CLEAN!!) vodka & water. Also, here's a link to Asprey's supplement protocol to minimize damage. If hangover (or lack thereof) is any indicator this regimen is a success... The only thing I do differently is, because I use the charcoal, I kind of skimp on the other supplements as the night goes on. Seems like they'd be wasted. |

Good Irish whiskey, in moderation. Powers 12-year-old is quite nice, as well as Black Bush and Bushmill's 12-year-old. |

Does using activated charcoal actually work? Any other side effects? |

Wine is my go to alcoholic beverage. Not sure if it paleo but at least it's gluten free. _Lazza |

I think straight booze in whatever permutation is best. You can not really over-indulge when it's not mixed.....unless you're going crazy with shots. Plus anything but water or soda water is going to have a ton of sugar. I love single-malt Scotch and would never consider giving it up. Relax and enjoy. |
