We've already seen some general paleo resolutions, but I would like to see your resolutions that specifically relate to PaleoHacks.

Here are mine, for starters. I resolve:

1) not to get "before-and-after envy" because everyone else has more dramatic results than I do

2) not to get in an argument with Jae or Kamal (because I'll lose), and

3) to improve my posts and raise my RPA (Reputation Point Average), a statistic I just made up. Your RPA is your total reputation divided by the sum of questions and answers on your profile.

it would be nice if there was an incentive for users to vote for questions and answers. – MikeD Dec 31 2010 at 0:26
@MikeD, you get a badge for casting 300 votes. You could resolve to vote 300x. – Ed Dec 31 2010 at 1:32
cool, yeah i guess i was just thinking with all of our users there would be more voting going on so i thought maybe there would be more ways to incentivize, like a badge so that works. – MikeD Dec 31 2010 at 2:43

But Ed if you worry too much about your RPA then that might keep you from answering "fun" questions that don't necessarily require a lot of work or get you lots of points but I think are important for community-building. Though I see what you mean of course. – Paul Jan 3 2011 at 0:04

@WCC Paul, good point, but I've seen plenty of "fun" questions and answers that get lots of upvotes as well. The trick is to figure out what's fun and/or informative for the community. – Ed Jan 3 2011 at 4:41

How's this? If I ponder a question enough to respond to it, I plan to upvote it.

I saw a question this week that had been "starred" (favorited), but it had zero up-votes. How could someone favorite a question without up-voting it? – Ed Dec 31 2010 at 13:12

I have just one. Try to post more answers and engage more with the highly knowledgeable user base on this site (is that two?).

Oh, I do have a second one: Think of questions to post to start interesting discussions.
