for some reason, i really crave raw meat after working out and i tend to eat a small amount of raw steak or ground beef to satisfy the craving. i bought a package of chicken hearts earlier today and they're my new favorite raw meat. so tender and yummy
The only raw meat I eat is beef tenderloin thinly sliced into Carpaccio. I wouldn't recommend you eating raw ground beef nor poultry, there's a risk of salmonella infection, among other, very common pathogens.
Not always, but maybe once a week I'll eat 8-16 oz of grass-fed beef raw. I never believed it, but it's actually very enjoyable and digestible. I eat it much slower than when it's cooked.
Obviously sourcing is very important...
I eat just about any non-poultry meat rare. Raw is fine, but I do not crave it. Chicken is one thing that I can tolerate with a mild case of Med-well where most people will demand it well done. As a Chef Instructor at a culinary school I have dabbled with my share of raw proteins being served during exams.
To be specific to your question, I love venison(whitetail deer), pasture raised pork(I raise my own), Lamb, Duck, Salmon.
