Id like to build a backyard obstacle course, and Id love to hear your ideas for what Obstacles to implement.
Log Runs, Wall Climbs, Brush Crawl, Rock Leap etc.
What Obstacles are going to simulate Natural Environmental situations and train and challenge me more away from being a "zoo human"...
Where possible describe your Obstacle(s) of choice, bonus points for pictures.
Im thinking something along the lines of "Ninja Warrior"
At least part of the course should be done while carrying a sandbag or similar unbalanced weight. I like to walk across fields, climb over fences, and climb up trees with fifty pounds of sand in a canvas sack. It is also fun to carry while wading in streams. I like to justify it by saying that paleolithic man would have had to carry prey home while avoiding becoming prey himself.
I'd search YouTube and Google Images for examples of existing obstacle courses, and build what appeals to me.
Also, have you heard of parkour? It's the discipline of movement. More specifically, it's about using your body to move efficiently through your environment. Check out this video as an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMppD-bUNWo
Note that one should begin learning parkour slowly, and preferably with an existing group of knowledgeable practitioners to teach and help guide you.
