Just curious for those of you that supplement with Krill oil, do you guys look for Astaxanthin content as well? Most seem to only look at the omega 3's.
I personally do look for astaxanthin, for its many noted health benefits, I found this cool video of an astaxanthin experiment that i wanted to share.
Just curious, I ordered some Krill Oil for the first time and didn't look for astaxhanthin, I was after the omega-3 as you well noticed. I've just re-checked and seen that it has 750 mcg of astaxhanthin, it's the Neptune Krill Oil from Now Foods. Any experience with it someone?
i've actually been taking astaxanthin since september now. i haven't noticed any benefits yet but i take 12 mg a day along with my fish oil. i used to take krill oil until i found fermented cod liver oil.
I have taken both astaxanthin and krill oil to get a combined dose of 10 mgs/day for about a year. I really haven't noticed a difference, though I believe it offers internal sun protection. I have recently decided to switch to fermented cod liver oil/butter oil for my teeth, but I may continue to take a little astaxanthin just because it is supposed to be such a great antioxident. It is pretty expensive though!
Do you think we'd get some if we ate the shells and tails of shrimp?
Answered another question on PH and this one came up in the side bar...
Personally I don't mind spending the money if it is a quality product. What do you think about this product.
