Today I overeat with hazelnuts. I don't wanna throw up. I fear that the phytic acid weakens my system. Its was 200gm. This should be 7 to 8oz?

Do you do anything when eating too much nuts, to stop the harmful effects?

Take it as a lesson and don't repeat that mistake. And as Jason said, just relax and move on :P – Flavio M. Jan 12 2011 at 0:05

I relax, go on with my life and stop worrying about such trivial things. The stress from worrying about "overeating" nuts is far far greater than the actual biological harm.

I take some extra fish oil, to even out my omega 3/omega 6 ratio...(as much as possible, of course!)

  1. take a nap and sleep it off. 2. don't do it again.

Uhm, I avoid eating so many nuts that I feel sick?

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

What I do to help myself eat only a serving at a time, is to take the bag when I buy them and measure out a serving size and put them in snack size baggies. That way when I grab the nuts, it's just one serving. If I take a second, I am very aware of it.

The palm of your hand is a good way to measure a serving size of nuts--saves baggies. ;-) – Ed Jan 11 2011 at 19:01

I stopped eating nuts altogether. I think nut butters, and really any food that is essentially predigested or premasticated, are good to avoid, but just nuts themselves seem to make me feel sick when I eat them raw. If I were to eat them, I would literally eat something like 2 walnuts a day, and at that amount, I may as well not do it since it can't possibly confer any benefit above what I'm already doing. I guess if you were just really into nuts and couldn't give them up, then it might be ok to continue consumption, but if you are encountering some kind of addictive response, then you might want to just cut them out.
