curious to know what other people think of this stuff? - would this be considered for real 100% paleo? i eat mainly whole foods but still can't kick the whole protein shake thing...saw this stuff on truenutrition.com and tried:
tastes great, no soy or whey - apparently made by spray drying egg/beef and grinding into powder. might still be cheating but it's the closest thing i could find as a post-workout treat...
Any isolated protein powders are not ideologically paleo. They are the apotheosis of processed foods.
But, if you've decided to include protein powders in your diet, this one doesn't look too terrible, ingredient-wise:
Egg White Protein, Whole Egg Protein, Beef Protein Isolate
If you aren't allergic to eggs, and you want to ingest a product like this, this is as close to paleo as I've seen.
I ordered some early this week and received it, this stuff is great so far. I tried both the plain and vanilla, both are super smooth with no grittiness or chalkiness. Definitely give it a try, I will fit this in my diet with a few handfulls of nuts when I'm out on the run and a real meal is tough to come by.
Fish Protein Powder. Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Wild Caught fish means antibiotic and hormone free. rGBH free. Fish source is "small anchovy" from south pacific so no toxin accumulations.
it actually tastes GOOD too - i know you won't believe that, but its true.
I always check out this website before buying any protein products - www.pro-proteinshake.com - My personal favourite is the Labrada Lean Body Hi-Protein shake because of the high protein:carb ratio.
