During my period I get frequent migraines (as far as I can tell it has something to do with fluctuating estrogen levels) and drinking a glass of soy milk when I feel one coming on is the only thing I have found that stops them. Any less harmful foods/drinks I could get the same effect from?

I'm under the impression that phytoestrogens and phytate are the main reasons non-soy-sensitive people avoid soy in the first place, and phytate is more of a "less-is-better" thing than something you need to avoid 100% in order to benefit. So if you meet the following criteria:
You don't get lots of phytate from other sources,
You understand the theorized risks of consuming phytoestrogens and are either unconvinced or think they're a favorable trade-off, and
Consuming soy doesn't cause you any other obvious problems
then soymilk sounds like it might be perfectly appropriate for this purpose.
