I am trying to think of more snack type ideas and one I want to try is Fruit Roll Ups. Has anyone experienced making these in either a dehydrator or the oven? Are there any great recipes; I have only found some that contain fruit, cinnamon and lemon juice.
What are some of your favorite things to snack on. My options seem to be only limited vegetables (many of my meals contain a side of vegetables), nuts (unsalted sunflower seeds to be specific) and I am not a huge fresh fruit fan.
Yes, I have made these in my dehydrator. You can do a similar thing with yogurt. All you need is the sheets for your dehydrator (instead of just the porous grates).
Honestly, there are so many recipes and possibilities, that it's not worth listing any particular recipe here. Find one on a dehydrator site that appeals to you, and go for it!
Keep in mind: dry fruit is a less optimal food than fresh fruit. However, dehydrating mashed fruits or yogurt makes for a pretty spectacularly snack (especially fun for guests).
