I have fallin in love with the BE Kind Almond and Cocunut bars specifically but they have alot of other options too. Eh I'm sure I am stretching the Paleo idea here...but the ingredient list is tiny. No crazy adders. Here is the list of ingredients from the bar I love. They have some other, lower sugar content ones as well.
Almonds, honey, shredded coconut, coconut chips, glucose, puffed rice, chicory fiber, soy lecithin.
Total Sugar content on this is 11Grams with 14Grams Carbs, and 4 Grams of Dietary Fiber.

I guess the argument here is about optimal nutrition. If you are going to ingest 11 grams of sugar, where would you rather get it? You could eat a cup of strawberries for only 7 grams of sugar bound up as nature intended--a perfect on the go snack available at most grocery stores--and get a day and a half's worth of your vitamin C intake as well as some folate and fiber.
The beauty of Paleo is changing the way we eat and the way we think about eating. Convenience foods from the processed food industrial complex are out, nature's energy packets in the form of real food are in. We should do our best to resist the enterprising urges among us that might try to bring the processed food world to paleo eating--it's a slippery slope from grass fed steaks to processed paleo protein bars made from only the freshest finest ingredients (in a factory a few months ago) and packaged in a shiny foil wrapper with a picture of a ripped paleo dood on the front.
Eleven grams of sugar is a lot for a small bar - adding glucose in its own right is not good, but containing a soy product as well would put me right off this - sorry!
Sometimes when I am in a bind I do eat commercial nut and fruit bars. Kind Bars are kind of sugar-heavy though. There is a rival brand, Oskri, that makes an almost identical bar with a low-sugar option. I bought a couple of these when I was on a road trip.
If you love these because of taste, I would consider them not paleo but probably not that bad as an occasional cheat or for a snack to keep in the car for emergencies as long as you are not eating a lot of them. If you were eating them for health reasons, I'd say don't bother. I do like to keep snacks in the car and there are only limited items that won't go bad or melt or wither in a boiling hot parked car. I usually try to have nuts or some kind of meat jerky. For shorter durations, oranges hold up well to heat as well and a juicy orange tastes so good when it's really hot out!

In an emergency, seems somewhat better than these except for the sugar added to the cranberries.
If I'm desperately hungry and stuck in a Starbucks -- the only place I've seen KIND bars -- I'll get a fruit salad over one of these, anyday. I figure even GMO'd watermelon chunks have to be better for me than what is essentially a $2 Snickers bar.
