I am a huge fan of Amazon's short shipping times, selection, and competitive pricing. I've bought macadamia nuts, macadamia oil, single-serve packets of almond butter, dried apple chips, and many, many other nonperishables from Amazon. Now I'd like to know: What paleo foodstuffs have YOU enjoyed via Amazon? On the flip side, are there any items that you thought would be a slam dunk but turned out to be major duds? Linking encouraged!

Here's my list of paleo-friendly Amazon buys I've received with good results. Subscribe and Save is the bomb if you want to save a bit extra (and then cancel after placing your order).
ETA some more I forgot:

Someone mentioned Wild Planet (WP) sardines above, but Amazon offers their whole line of seafood products (absolutely the best canned seafood: Wild/Sustainably caught, BPA free cans, no added liquids/MSG, actually tastes good right out of the can, etc.)... I mainly buy Albacore, skipjack and salmon w/ SS. Zoe Organic EVOO is amazing as well, a very mild buttery tasting olive oil. Also, the Numi bulk teas are priced very well and are pretty good IMHO. |

In addition to some of the things above:
Not foodstuffs, but I also get most supplements and household supplies (Dr. Bronner's soap, etc) from Amazon. |

I was going to start a thread like this last week when the Prime shipping I'd been gifted expired. So cheers to you for asking because it will help me decide if I want to shell out for another year of Prime. A staple for me from Amazon is the Nutiva unrefined extra virgin coconut oil. They have really good prices there... About half what I'll see it for elsewhere. Though I had a weird experience my last time buying it. The stuff came in a sort of soft melted state. Not at all like the first two batches we'd gotten on Amazon. We still used it for cooking but I wonder if maybe we should have just sent it back. Good supplement deals on Amazon too... I get Fish Oil and Vitamin D there. Oh and they have tinned cod liver if you want to eat the delicious real thing instead of going for the oil. I see they also have good bulk prices for coconut flakes or shredded coconut. I've purchased that same brand from a local market and it's good quality. |

Native forest coconut milk is significantly cheaper. Its also bpa free. Big packs of sardines are good too. Does anyone know of bpa free brands? I've gotten the azar nut company macadamias for a pretty decent price too. |

You guys should check out Swanson Health Products at www.swansonvitamins.com. I did a quick search and a lot of the products you mentioned in this thread are actually cheaper on that site. I absolutely love it for any vitamins, supplements, and even things like coconut oil and spices. Best deal of anywhere I've found. And they do promotions all the time for free shipping or buy one get one items. Check it out! :) |

I like Seasnax as a convenient source of iodine: http://www.amazon.com/SeaSnax-Roasted-Seaweed-Classic-2-16-Ounce/dp/B0036IO1IK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1335282860&sr=8-2 |

I would suggest this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001216DA2/ref=oh_o04_s00_i01_details It's pretty expensive, but it's worth it in my opinion, because it's got 6 different varieties! Sea vegetables are important on Paleo for their different kind of vitamins and iodide, should be consumed once a week or so. |

I can get most of what others have mentioned locally and often cheaper than is available on Amazon. The few things I do use Amazon for:

My favorite stuff on Amazon, most of which I buy through Subscribe & Save: Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil -- the best stuff EVER. I would take a bath in this stuff if I could afford it. The price can vary wildly at times. I just wait and stock up when it's a good deal, usually I can get it at half the price of the same stuff in the local health food stores. Honeyville Blanched Almond Flour -- works great in every recipe I've tried and each bag lasts a long time. I am thinking about making my own almond flour but then I'd really need a burr grinder to get the consistency I like and those puppies are expensive, so this works for now. Azukar Organic Unrefined Coconut Flour -- sometimes hard to find but it's wonderful and comes in a 3 pack. Zoe Extra Virgin Olive Oil -- has a delicious, rich flavor with a pleasant, mild olive taste. Perfect for cooking, drizzling over salads, and using in homemade skin care products Now Foods 5000iu Chewable Vitamin D -- best price and has the least "extra" crap of any chewable supplement I could find. Got it for the kids but we all take it Great Lakes Honey -- good flavor and they don't buy from any countries that sell or import the fake corn syrup "honey" from China, however, I'd like to switch to raw honey if I can find a good price once I use up the rest of what I have on hand The following products are obviously not strict paleo but are gluten-free and minimally processed: Ener'G Foods Rice Flax Loaf -- not first choice for meals but it works in a pinch for sandwich bread when I need to pack a quick and easy lunch for the kids for field trips, sleepovers, etc. The flax loaf has the best texture and flavor, the other varieties are dry and crumbly. Bob's Red Mill GF Rolled Oats -- grown from heirloom seeds, it has a robust texture and a surprisingly good, slightly nutty flavor. I know oatmeal is a 4 letter word for some folks. I eat it sparingly, but I do find this to be perfect for making homemade granola. Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta -- we rarely eat pasta but if we do this is what we use. It's hearty, doesn't dissolve into a mess, and stores well in the pantry. Other things I buy on Amazon (brand varies depending on price and availability): Dried Fruits & Berries -- to get us through winter until the local pick-your-own farms open Vitamin C supplements -- usually Now Foods chewables but occasionally we get gummies for the kiddos Canned Coconut Milk -- still trying to find the best affordable brand online. I do not recommend ordering Taste of Thai, no matter how cheap the offer is. The cans were all dented (even the replacement shipment) and the quality was not great. (Not to be confused with Thai Kitchen, which has great coconut milk, just wish it was in BPA-free cans). |

While not quite as wholesome as the Organic things listed here, I should mention that Amazon also sells Microwavable Pork Rinds, and they are just as good as any other ones I've had. (pay attention to the cook time, though). I like the spicy ones. |

Great answers. Hitherto I've only bought supplements on amazon. Going to order the WP seafood, Mauna Loa Macadamias, and the BPA free coconut milk right away. |

Blue Diamond, Whole Natural Almonds, 1.5 ounce packages I love these because they're convenient and you know exactly how much you're eating at a time. Blue Diamond, Oven Roasted Almonds, Cinnamon/Brown Sugar, 8 ounce jars I love cinnamon flavored snacks. These are all natural, no added vegetable oils like other brands. They're also very cheap compared to when buying them in the store. They also have other flavors like Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Mint, and Toffee. The Mint flavor is also delicious. Good Sense Omega Munchies, Caramelized Flaxseed Walnuts, Cinnamon, 5-Ounce Bags Yes, more cinnamon! These have a bit more sugar than some people might want, 10 grams per serving, so you want to watch your intake. I treat these like a dessert, good for an occasional treat. Also good mixed in with full-fat Greek Yogurt. Pumpkorn Organic Shelled Pumpkin Seeds, Garlic and Pepper, 2.75-ounce bags A nice combination of crunch and spice. These also come in a variety of flavors. As you can see I mainly stick to snacks when ordering on Amazon, but I may have to check out this Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil you guys keep mentioning. |
