I truly love my magnesium citrate goodness before bed, deep sleep, and the impeccable timing of my morning trips to the "think tank", BUT

Has anyone stopped taking Natural Calm after a long period of using it? Did you have a hard time sleeping? Did you get constipated all of a sudden?

I don't like the thought of becoming dependent upon taking a supplement for optimal living; needing two tablespoons of a chemical compound before bed doesn't seem 'Paleo' to me.

Has anyone deliberately decided against Magnesium supplementation? I'd love to hear your rationalle.

I went on a work trip for a week and forgot it. My first thought was panic because I thought I would be constipated the next day, however, I wasnt. My movement was as smooth but I got the job done. I didn't notice a huge change in my sleep either.

Yeah, I noticed this too. Then I just stopped, and made sure I was still eating whole foods. – Knarf Apr 3 2012 at 23:21

Would you say "I don't want to take a calcium supplement everyday and make my body dependent on it." LOL Your body already depends on magnesium, whether you supp or not. If you don't supp and you become constipated, you likely are not getting enough magnesium in your diet. If you don't want to supp, eat more foods with magnesium. :)

No affiliation with the company. I don't even use Natural Calm daily (just on occasion) but I do use magnesium daily, and recommend Natural Calm to people as a starting point b/c it's easy to use/take/give.

PS Pumpkin Seeds are high in magnesium. Have a handful before bed if you don't want the supplement!

Good point. My body has proved this so many times : if I quit a supplement I get issues, but if I replace the supplement with food with practically the same amount of it, everything's fine again. – Korion Feb 10 2012 at 18:55
