I am almost done with re-building my good flora and killing off all the parasites. But I know some are still there. My friend and I had a prolonged discussion about it and basically, we disagree on how to reach recovery.
So I thought I would ask Paleohackers (you are the best). Could you please look over three different ways to go about it below and tell me which sounds better:
Build your immunity (through naturopathic and conventional medicine) and all the parasites will die on their own.
Kill off your parasites by using conventional and naturopathic medicine, then work on rebuilding your good flora.
Eat healthy diet and use probiotics to crowd out the bad guys (I have already tried it, it does not work for me).
I've read a lot about the benefits of using a mechanical method to destroy parasites, such as diatomaceous earth, rather than herbal mixtures that only work for a couple species at a time and eventually become tolerated. Worth a shot - the stuff is cheap on Amazon.
i did a cleanse with vegetable juices and one day made a tea with indian long pepper, i crapped out a huge black parasite straight away. i use diatomaceous earth too with no ill effects...and my hair and nails got healthier, that was even before paleo too. i've read cloves will get rid of them, and they hate bitter foods like watercress, pumpkin seeds, garlic....check here http://www.healingfoodreference.com/parasites.html they love sugars so don't give them too much of those.
Parasites are BAD, I would go with 2 as well. You need to eliminate them from your system... Stat!! Then worry about rebuilding your gut, as long as you have parasites running wild through your digestive tract it doesn't matter what diet your on or what you do to keep your flora.
I personally do not know how to naturally get rid of parasites, although Im sure there is some rainforest remedy out there, I would just get them out of system ASAP and repair what you need to repair when its done.
I got a gastroenterology appointment last week and asked for some simple tests to find out about chronic infections I might have and was basically told to calm down and get out unless I wanted them to stick a scope in me. I tried to explain that I had some theories about what was bothering me and thought I might have a parasite or some sort of dysbiosis (actually got a bit technical in the office); I just wanted to get some simple tests done. No go... They tried to sell me on tumors, polyps, and hemroids and the whole scope thing one more time and I left with a pamphlet.
I don't know what it is with these guys about scoping up people's back sides. I had the same thing happen when I was younger and wanted some relief from some minor chronic digestive issues. They tried to freak me out about all the tumors and stuff I might have and scope my ass (literally) and I left with my tail between my legs. After all these years I got up the courage to go back and they tried the same thing.
Why are these butt doctors so hesitant to just do some non-invasive basic testing when they're gung-ho about knocking you out and looking inside you rear? I ain't that pretty I swear.
I'm sorry. I just needed to vent about that experience.
you can have parasites and never know it - I vote for eating natural foods and also consume plenty of probiotics. Also diatomaceous earth is supposed to rid you of all parasites too. I have been taking it daily and have had no bad effects from it. It is basically silica with a lot of other necesary minerals in, so also a good mineral supplement.
