so besides hunting, butchering, and devouring a wild deer.(so jealous of NYC)

What are some good suggestions of things to do as a group of mixed fitness, mixed stages of paleo group besides food?

Need suggestions of good Paleo themed activities for a group.

Hey, are you doing my job? ;) - Also, did you see the foraging class idea I posted? – Elizabeth Feb 4 2011 at 5:09

Having food involved at some stage of the meetup is more likely to draw people in. – Chickenosaurus Rex Feb 4 2011 at 22:39

Go for a hike.

Go for a trail/city bike ride.

Have a city-wide scavenger hunt.

Take a capoeira or kickboxing class.

Go on a tour of a local farm.

Go to a local farmers market.

Have a BBQ in a park.

Take a kayaking class/tour.

Go birdwatching (?)

Ok the last one is kind of lame, I think that's all the ideas I have for now!

Don't underestimate the potlucks! I know you don't want food ideas, but that is one that has been really successful with our meet-up group here in Seattle.

Other ideas we've discussed:

-Berry picking (gathering)
-Visiting a local farm
-Clam digging
-Camping (we're really looking forward to this one)
-Paleo Thanksgiving (food, yes, but we did do this and it was great)
-Cooking lessons & techniques
-We're also doing an event this month at Whole Foods with Robb Wolf, a Paleo Cook off, where 3 local chefs compete to make the best meal using only Paleo ingredients, plus a talk by Robb Wolf. It was VERY popular and sold out quickly.
