This isn't really a hack. Sorry. It's just that Smartwool Vibrams are $30 off at REI.com. Since it's the lowest Vibram price I've ever seen, maybe some of you would be interested?

I saw that earlier, too - and almost bought them on the spot. Then I remembered I've already got five pairs with the Komodo Sport on backorder (from REI). – Casey Feb 9 2011 at 5:06
Same here! Well, sort of. I've been wanting to get the Mocs, and modify the sole for extended outdoor use. Even though I don't need the Smartwools, I had to literally stop myself from pressing "buy". – Kamal Feb 9 2011 at 5:23

Kamal, just out of curiosity: how are you planning to modify the sole? – Nico Feb 9 2011 at 13:10
I'm considering putting some Vibram sole on the leather portions that might hit the ground. The Mocs appeal to me because they don't have that hard toe separation from inter-digit rubber, but have unprotected areas on the bottom of the shoe. It might be overly simplistic, but I thought maybe covering up sole-less leather areas with some rubber might make it more durable outside. – Kamal Feb 9 2011 at 17:45

I am planning on getting my first vibrams, and would love an advice in terms of sizing. Anyone has an experience how adequate their sizing is? Does it tend to be smaller or bigger than typical for a particular size?
