Ever since Mark in The Primal Blueprint told me I should work out less and take long walks more, I've been hitting the gym twice a week max to lift heavy things. I usually do squats, overhead press, bench, deadlifts, lunges, step ups, pullups, reverse pullups (to increase my pullup count) and situps.
I also enjoy good hikes and the occasional run. I wish I would swim more, but there is a perceived hassle to getting in a bathing suit and preventing myself from drowning. I was thinking of joining a Crossfit gym but who knows. I was wondering what are some of the favorite ways people stay active here on the site?
Although in winter we'll do some more indoor type strength and intervall training, we love to go out in the woods (I live less then a mile from a nice patch of 2000 ha) and do things like these:
We prefer doing this together (me, wife and two little sons), although I can enjoy these on my own too.It is workout and play and family time all together. And sun and soil exposure. It's just fun, and great for your mood.

Bodyweight exercises. Many think they're lame, but they are very paleo.
You can alter intensity by varying the exercise, you can do them almost anywhere at no cost. The more you learn the more you realise what negligible value expensive gym equipment provides.
I run and crossfit 5x per week. I am aware that I am probably overtraining and that my volume of running (5-6 miles per day) is causing me not to get the maximum benefit of my crossfit lifting, but my goal of leaning out and my addictive personality doesn't much care.
My fave exercises are hunting and snowshoeing, or both at the same time. And although I've been doing the Primal Blueprint Fitness thing, I've been doing a bit of running in addition to the sprints, when I feel like it.
Gymnastics bodyweight training is great.
I've recently started a 4 day a week program based on Coach Sommer's Building the Gymnastic Body book. He's got a great forum over at http://gymnasticbodies.com where you can find out all you need to know.
I'm working on doing the fundamental static positions (FSP's - warning, they use a lot of acronyms!) where you work up to doing sets of 1 minute of each of the 6 static positions. Right now my favourite is the frogstand:
