I am following a paleo based ketogenic diet with good results so far. From what I have read I should be consuming approx 0.8-1g of protein per pound of body weight to provide my body with sufficient protein for maintenance but not too much so it uses excess protein for fuel. When calculating the amount of protein found in beef is there a difference between the amount of protein found in raw beef vs cooked beef?
I have looked a a few online sites but they tend to list different amounts of protein in, say 1oz of beef; 7g in 1oz raw beef vs maybe 5g in 1oz cooked. I am thinking it would be preferable to calculate protein content based on cooked beef. Any thoughts or opinions on this?
