I agree his forum was getting out of hand. But he seems to have thrown the baby out with the bathwater and punished everyone because of a few rotten apples.

Or you could be thankful that Dr. Harris provided you with amazing content, for free, for a long time and will likely continue to do so. I think the closing of his forums is great news. Better to bring more of the community here than have it fractured all over the place. And now the fine doctor can focus on what he's best at instead of being forum maintainer, which is costly in both time and money. Dr. Harris - Thank you for all your great work |

While I dont always agree with everything that he writes, his blog is very helpful. He doesnt get paid. He doesnt have spam advertisements. He donates HIS time for us. Read what you want to read about and ignore the parts you dont want to read. If you want to pay him year round to write for you, then you can dictate what he writes about, otherwise, He's going to write what he wants to, and we will appreciate it each in our own way. edit: PaNu Forums being closed may be a blessing in disguise... now he has more time to blog instead of moderating! |

I don't think he's gone off the deep end. I'm glad he's blogging regularly again and I like his new approach. His medical analyses are excellent and based on science, not speculation or half-baked nonsense. It's his blog, done on his own time, so he can do what he wishes with it. There's a lot to be learned there. An MD who thinks for himself and doesn't tow the standard line is refreshing. =========================================================================== Took this out of my post. Question was edited: What do you mean by "other b.s."? It's not clear in your question. |

Dr. Harris puts a huge amount of time into his research, and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge into his posts. His blog is #1 in my mind for the best content, and I absolutely love his ascerbic style. If closing the forums will help him focus on his research and blogging, then I'm glad he took that step. |

The only thing that worries me is this "2) Many of the thread topics are either trivial or dangerously inappropriate - people giving each other highly questionable dietary or medical advice that I would disagree with. These conversations are occurring on my domain, so if I don't join in it gives the impression of approval or sanction." One would though that frequent PaleoNuer's view would be close to the author's. |
