So I follow a dairy free paleo diet. Dairy generally causes my Roscea to flare up. A perfect example on inflammation. However I noticed that cheese generally isn't a problem. So does anyone else experience the roscea/ance flare up? If yes do you eat cheese and what cheese do you eat? I'd like to add cheese to my diet but need to know what will theoretically be best?

I think the main issues with cheese are two-fold: 1) Lactose, a.k.a. sugar 2) The quality of the fat I believe if you're going to eat cheese, you'd be better off sticking to harder, more aged cheeses, which have less lactose. The softer the cheese, the more carbs. If you can assure that the cows who made the milk the cheese came from were pasture-raised, all the better. I am very new to this paleo thing but that is my understanding. |

I was recently talking about congestion I notice when I eat dairy (rarely now). The person I was talking with (pretty up on nutrition and doing things naturally) said the he's noticed that mozzarella and goat cheese tend not to bother people that have a sensitivity to dairy. I haven't tested this yet, but it's worth a try... |

I have rosacea. I don't think I particularly notice flare ups with cheese, but I'm quite sensitive to coffee, even decaf. |

I don't eat "young" cheeses, AKA, cheeses that are aged less than 6 months. The older the cheeses are, the less likely I'll have a negative reaction. 5 year rawncheddar is my fav :) |
