Anyone have any experience with this method of running. Looked for free information but nothing was really helpful, any leads. Hate running and heard using this method makes it less dreadful.

Getting "barefoot" shoes will help.

Here's a good video on how to learn POSE style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jio7DK15Q1E

Here's a good video with the "Born to run" author: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIT7t2jtdP0

Here's a great TED talk on the subject, by the same author: http://www.ted.com/talks/christopher_mcdougall_are_we_born_to_run.html

"The barefoot professor" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jrnj-7YKZE

Good luck!

Sure! Just search youtube for "barefoot running" or "pose running". I have found plenty of videos that way.

Another idea is to start using minimalist footwear (vibrams, Nike Frees, etc.). Your body will naturally compensate the lack of direction that normal cross-trainers provide by going into a more "pose"-like technique.

I have both vibrams and frees. Love them – ReformedVEGAN Feb 17 2011 at 17:47
Same here! I love running in my Frees. I recently got some Inov-8 230s, and they're great, too! – Ben Feb 17 2011 at 19:43

Crossfit Endurance is another good place to look. Not sure if it will help you out as far as not liking running. Trail running is the only thing I found to make it more enjoyable.

I run POSE and the more I see other people running unconsciously and heel striking the more alarmed I become. It's something to do with public health!

If you want to run injury free, I totally recommend you to start POSE running. Or, just go barefoot.

Pose running is a great running technique pioneered by Dr. Nicholas Romanov that can increase your efficiency and make it a much more enjoyable activity. Here are a couple resources that I can point you to for help:

  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqMFzCkrJz8 These are some great pose running drills that I use that help you adapt to the pose method

  2. http://www.vimeo.com/13473579 This is a running workshop that I taught recently that will give you some great tips and info about pose running

Good luck!
