I know Twisted Root and the Grazing Cow serve grass-fed hamburgers. Anybody know of other places where it's easy to eat paleo (or paleo with a few modifications)?
Carl's serves a lettuce wrapped burger, Jimmy Johns serves a lettuce wrapped sub, Chipotle (Burrito bowl with no rice/beans+extra meat=AWESOME), there is a great place called Salata, they serve HUGE salads with plenty of protein and veggies, other than that, I tend to stick with getting Salmon at restaurants :-)
I'll third Kozy. I always order the burger without the bun and love the veggie instead of fries side idea. Meddlesome Moth in Dallas also has a grass fed burger. I wasn't aware that Twisted Root was grass fed. Funny their website (Twisted Root) doesn't make any mention of that fact. You would think that would be a selling point.
I wouldn't know about grass fed, but Texas is where I go to eat pit smoked beef brisket. Randy's and Mac's are two places near Dallas where you can order it delicious and fork tender. Meat and no sides, with unsweet ice tea. Mmmmm boy.
It's not Dallas, but it is the D/FW area: There is a place called Potager Cafe in Arlington on Mesquite St. They use ALL 100% local, pastured, grass-fed, organic, and raw products. It's an interesting little place too. You pay what you think the meal was worth. I was in there for lunch one day, but they didn't have much left, so I said I'd be back for dinner. The lady that owns it asked me what I would like to have for dinner...and she had it for me...down to a dessert of berries! They do have a website if you want to do a search...and they list the menu and where they get their products on it as well!
Elevation Burger is yummy. Off Northwest Hwy and Hillcrest, if I'm remembering right. And there's a place in that same area (the shopping center where, years ago, there was a mystery book store) called The Dive that we ate at the last time we were in town. Had AMAZING Ceviche with plantain chips (pretty sure the oil wasn't what I would have picked, but we indulged anyway).
The Egg & I did a nice steak and eggs breakfast.
It doesn't need to be a hamburger place. Many BBQ places are rather paleo. A place I like is Cowboy Chicken. I usually get half a chicken with butternut squash and sweet potato or greenbeans.
