I am looking for a suggestion for breakfast. I do not eat eggs, beef, and minimal pork (I do not like the taste or texture but I do eat bacon on occasion). Any suggestions? Ideally something quick, or something I can make on the weekend and eat at the office.

I rarely eat "breakfast" food, and when I do, it's often an omelet or fritatta in the afternoon, which isn't what you're looking for. Why not take a look at what you like to eat in the afternoon or evening, and have it for breakfast? If you want something quick, make-ahead curries, stews, soups, etc. can be made ahead and quickly warmed. A nice salad for breakfast probably never hurt anyone, either. A lot of people swear by bacon, but since it's full of salt and not filling, I don't see the point, unless as a condiment. Curries are one of my favorite warm-up meals. I like the Patak's brand curry mixes that come in jars (all I've found so far are gluten free which is crucial for me with celiac disease) and I add meat (but you don't have to, and the Tikka paste can be a great base as well), coconut milk, flax meal, possibly some tamarind paste for tanginess, and high fiber, lower-carb veggies, and sometimes golden raisins or other unsweetened, tangy dried fruit for zing if I'm in the mood for a little sweetness. Or skip the enhanced spice and you've got a stew, even easier in a crock pot or slow cooked in a Dutch oven depending on what you have and find convenient. Easy to warm at work or eat at room temp. Also just some steamed veggies with butter or coconut oil would be satisfying and easy to do in a microwave in a ceramic bowl with a ceramic plate as a lid (I don't use plastic in microwaves due to chemical contaminants). |

Why not just skip breakfast altogether? |

I've had a great experience with this recipe for breakfast. The Caribbean Seafood Stew from Everyday Paleo: http://everydaypaleo.com/2010/11/28/caribbean-seafood-stew/ I've also brought it to work in tupperware. It's delicious! |

I like to wrap smoked salmon around some onion slices & a chunk of cream cheese; or that could all be put on top of tomato or cucumber slices. Salmon & bacon with some sauteed spinach or arugula is good too! |

Anything you eat for lunch, dinner or snack can essentially be eaten for breakfast. |

Spaghetti squash and butter!!! So comforting and filling and not EGG! Add whatever kind of cooked meat you have laying around...hamburger, sausage, turkey, etc. One baked squash over the weekend makes 4 or 5 meals. |

The food you are looking for my friend is "Smoked Salmon Trim". Many fishmongers will sell it by the pound/kilo, and it costs usually 1/2 as much as it's fancier "Nova Lox" brother. Top this over homemade pickles and some herring in wine sauce. Good fats and good protein. |

Assuming you like coconut milk and coffee: http://paleograd.blogspot.com/2011/02/paleo-cappuccino.html This is my new favorite breakfast for super busy mornings. There's literally less than a minute prep time, it's crazy good/creamy, and it'll keep you full for hours. |

I baked up a bunch of dark-meat turkey sausage a few nights ago; it's got a reasonable amount of fat in it, and not too high in sodium. (You can probably make your own, actually -- the kind I bought had a nice sage flavor, which I love, and the internet is full of sausage recipes.) I ate a few of those with my breakfast this morning and it helped keep me full for five solid hours. Not too shabby. :) |

Eat anything you like. It doesn't have to be a traditional breakfast food. Sometimes I just eat leftovers from dinner. Easy peasy. Just heat and serve. |

You can try a breakfast smoothie.... 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup raspberries (and/or blackberries), 1 avocado, a little bit of coconut water (enough to make it as thick or liquid-y as you want). walnuts, almond butter, and coconut butter and/or coconut cream are optional but highly recommended. I do all of the above but use 5 raw eggs instead of the coconut water. Ive eaten that (or some variation) almost every day for about 2-3 years and I stay full, not bloated, and have great energy from it. and it's damn tasty! |

BACON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm lazy in the mornings and eat a low carb protein bar for breakfast (usually Atkins). When I'm not in the mood, I'll eat bacon strips or pepperoni. I'm a weird breakfast eater -- I don't like traditional foods unless they're eggs (when hard boiled). |

Yup ! Any food is fair game for anytime of the day. Many of my first meals of the day I have left overs from the previous day. I think food is just food and eat whatever when I get hungry. |

Breakfast shake recipe: EGGNOG the right way I know you said no eggs but I swear you can't taste them in this recipe. 4 to 5 organic, pastured egg YOLKS. NO WHITES 80 grams of raw or vat pasteurized heavy cream. Substitute organic coconut milk about 100 g if you wish. 1 tsp ground organic nutmeg Small squirt of organic vanilla No sweeteners! A little water and blend in bullet blender. Pour over ice and enjoy, Very portable also. You can put the eggnog in a canning jar full of ice cubes and sip throughout the morning. This keeps me humming all day. I only eat one of these shakes and dinner each day. Never hungry! |
