Has anyone here purchased Eat Stop Eat, and if so what did you think of it? What's the premise behind it (other than the intermittent fasting of course)? Is his specific program Paleo friendly?

Brad doesn't promote any particular diet. He has said on a number of occasions that following a particular protocol isn't necessary when using ESE in terms of weight loss. So is it paleo friendly? It is friendly to any way of eating a person chooses. I have it advertised permanently in the sidebar on my website. Richard Nikoley at FreeTheAnimal lost weight following ESE and paleo food principles. Intermittent fasting and all its benefits is the premise of the book which can work with nearly any way of eating. |

It's Intermittent Fasting, save your money. Eat Paleo. IF as is comfortable for you... Tons of free resources out there, why pay? |

I was under the impression that Pilon was on board with paleo-nutrition to a certain degree, but Stephen Guyenet's interview with John Barban made it clear that Pilon and his cronies are not. This is surprising, since the ads for ESE are so subtle (rolling eyes). Agreed with Stephen. i've read the book - it summarizes IF. Although, IF should not be a substitute or a reason to eat shitty food. |

Like I need a book to grasp the concept of starvation. And make no mistake about it, if you insist on eating thick crust pizza, doughnuts and chugging fizzy soda pop then in order to lose weight you must starve on a regular basis. Having listened to Pilol, Barban, et al. it is my impression those guys are borderline airheads. |

Yes the whole premise of eat-stop-eat is the intermittent fasting. The author makes no claim of any particular "diet" being better than another. Although a lot of people have associated ESE with the Concept of the Paleo diet. This is not however because of what Paleo man ate but more so his habits of eating. Its believed that Paleo man didn't have the luxury of eating many meals a day, and only ate when he made a kill or was able to gather other food stuffs - thus having long breaks between meals. So on the premise of eating habits (and not necessarily what is eaten) Eat stop Eat (as well as the warrior diet) do have principles set in Paleo Mans lifestyle. |
