I did this inadvertently in high school by eating only protein during the week then pigging out on junk on the weekends--I stayed pretty lean but if I were to try it again now that I know how and why to eat healthy I'd skip the junk and do it purely paleo.
Monday-Friday: High-fat, moderate protein, low carb:: meat, seafood, eggs, butter, cheese, cocoonut oil, green veggies
Saturday/Sunday: High-carb, low-protein, low fat:: Tubers, fruits, vegetables, rice (if you include it)
To my naive anthropological mental model it feels more like the way a paleolithic hunter-gatherer would eat, though I could be wrong. After a successful hunt, they'd eat nothing but the kill for days, then they'd switch to gathered tubers, fruits, nuts until the next successful kill. Plus, this way of eating also cycles protein, which has been shown to have health/longevity benefits (maybe because this is how we evolved to eat?).
