I'm trying to set up a budget, and my first goal is to get my groceries in order. To that end, I'm trying to set up a general meal plan for myself that will optimize my nutrition while simplifying prep time. All the meats are either wild-caught or grass-fed from http://www.texasgrassfedbeef.com .

Mon-Thur

.5 lb Pork Sausage

1 lb Ground Beef, Buffalo, or Lamb

Fri-Sat

.5 lb Beef Bacon (sliced brisket)

.5 lb Ground Beef, Buffalo, or Lamb

.5 lb Chicken or Beef Liver

Sun

.5 lb Beef Bacon

1 lb Salmon

In addition, I will eat the following daily:

2 cups leafy greens (spinach, kale, spring mix, turnip or collard greens)

2-3 cups non-starchy vegetables (usually broccoli or cauliflower, but also things like asparagus, onions, etc)

1 sweet potato or other starchy vegetable (on occasion)

Various fats and oils for cooking or flavor (clarified butter, coconut oil, coconut milk, and avocado being the main ones)

For reference, I am 23 years old, 5'9" tall, and weigh 183 lbs. I have a part time standing job that involves moving around weights of 10-60 pounds around 25-30 hours per week. I have already lost a lot of weight (about 100 lbs total, the last 50 over 1.5 years primal/paleo), but I still have a lot of flab hanging around my midsection that I'd like to get rid of. I'd also like to up my strength even more, but the fat loss takes precedence.

I would personally include eggs in the diet plan due to the wealth of benefits they offer that would be low or lacking in just good cuts of meat. – Jonesy Feb 22 2011 at 11:21
I should have mentioned that cheese stalls my weight loss and yogurt (even goat yogurt) upsets my stomach, so dairy is right out. The only dairy I use is the Kerrygold butter I clarify myself, which I usually mix with coconut oil. – Sgroh87 Feb 22 2011 at 14:38
Ghee mixed with coconut oil. Ooh! – Egk Feb 22 2011 at 17:54
I was inspired by Mark's Daily Apple. marksdailyapple.com/coconut-oil-and-ghee – Sgroh87 Feb 23 2011 at 1:10

Looks good and tasty. I'm guessing you like a lower carb approach. Not a very low calorie diet but it sounds like you are active at work. Try it out, let us know how it works!

"Like" is not the right word; I would go with "saw more success with". I would love to eat a couple sweet potatoes per day, and possibly will once I get down to my ideal weight range; but for now, I don't think it'll work. – Sgroh87 Feb 22 2011 at 14:35

Looks good. As Jonesy said, eggs will add a few nutrients like K2, other options for K2 are natto(yuck) or grassfed hard cheese!

Don't forget that it's not just food.

Sleep and Stress are Huge for losing that last bit.

An of course I'm a huge advocate for fasted training.

@Sgrouh87: The Kerrygold butter you already have in your plan is supposed to be pastured. This will get you K2. – Paul Feb 22 2011 at 20:39
(I should add that you posted the bit about Kerrygold after S-A posted this answer; I'm complementing, not correcting.) – Paul Feb 22 2011 at 20:41
