Because that would be awesome.
(I spent a while googling it came up with zilch...is there anything paleo out there with embedded hyperlinking?)
I suspect this site is the closest thing to a wiki thus far...
I also suspect that if a paleo wiki was created, we'd be ripped apart by vegan activists, a la what's happening to Denise Minger's critique of the China Study... Shameful.
Hi, I'm the CTO of FoundHealth, a wiki-based site dedicated to providing the most comprehensive set of health treatments and solutions to people's health challenges even if the solutions fall outside conventional medical thinking. As Paleo practitioners, I think we all know first-hand what it means to blindly follow conventional medical thinking.
The core article pages on FoundHealth are wiki-based, and we have recently started coverage of the Paleo diet at http://www.foundhealth.com/paleo-diet/overview. Please check it out, and let me know what you think. I'm fully invested in spreading knowledge and awareness around the benefits of the Paleo diet, and the wiki should be a great tool to help us toward that cause.
Regarding the concern that "we'd be ripped apart by vegan activists", our goal is to have intelligent discussions backed by sound scientific data. I'm hopeful that we can have civil discourses on the site, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
In case anyone wonders whether or not I'm Paleo myself, I'm also the founder of Paleo for Life. :)
It's too bad more users don't use the search function here on PH. There is a lot of good historic Q&A info here already. I spent my first month here using the search function before even asking my first question.
Someone set one up here: http://www.paleowiki.org
It's still blank, but that's a great domain and it would be terrific if we decided to make it THE paleo wiki. It would be fleshed out in no time.
I love the idea of having a wiki. A body of evolving, up-to-date knowledge.
Brilliant! Let's put out the real Paleo truth loud and proud. As for vegan activists trying to 'rip us apart'... ha! Let them try. Keeps us on our toes anyway, no?
Anyway would we have the ability to have only certain people gain editing rights to the page info? Like... can an administrator 'approve' editors? If so, we could better control the info that goes into it. If not, then we will always be battling people editing/erasing/adding things.
If you really think about how cool it would be to have a Paleo Wiki, it gets pretty exciting. An organized site of all Paleo info. A single place we can direct people to.
Weird timing, I'm actually playing around with a way of putting all this information in a better system / format. Still playing around with formatting and how to present the data, but you can see my latest idea at www.paleocollective.com
