So I asked a question the other day about being hungry after I ate, I got a bunch of great answers and the advice worked. I already love this site. Anyways, so I know that I am really green about eating paleo but where can I find advice on how much and what to consume? Right now I am 5'11" and weigh 175, I like the current weight I am at, so where do I go for advice I have read the Paleo diet but some of what I hear on contradicts what I have read on here.

I'd say that as long as you avoid the stuff you are supposed to be avoiding on your plan (your version of Paleo, a specific plan you're on, etc.), eat to satiety. Especially once you get past craving junk (if you do, I suppose some people never totally get over it), hunger is more of a biochemical signal than a personal flaw.

Eating too much protein may lead to you converting some of it to glucose, which you may or may not want to happen. If you've really got hunger issues, you might need more fat; coconut oil might help, since it's less likely to be stored.

So is there a way to determine how much protein I can eat without it being turned to glucose/fat? Or is there a way to keep it as a glycogen or will it end up being stored as triglycerides? All this is so new to me and I have yet to really figure out my bodies chemistry. – nick3981 Feb 26 2011 at 4:26
I agree that after you get past the sugar cravings, eating to satiety should sort things out, especially as you are within a normal weight range. – Jeff Feb 26 2011 at 6:00
