When I was eating SAD I used to be so wired on caffeine and sugar all day that my sleep suffered. I found it very hard to fall asleep. I used to wake often, and I found it very difficult to go back to sleep. Any little noise used to rouse me from sleep. I never got up in the morning feeling rested.
Now that I've been eating mostly paleo for a few months my sleep has drastically changed. As my go-to-bed time approaches I'm getting really drowsy and finding it hard to force myself to stay awake. Now I fall asleep very quickly, usually within just a few minutes. And I'm a little concerned about how "heavily" I'm sleeping now. I'm sleeping through drastractions and noises in the night, like the near-hourly trains. I rarely wake up in the middle of the night now, and when I do I am able to go back to sleep quickly.
I know some of you are thinking, "So you're sleeping better now, what's the problem?" Well, after a lifetime of being a light sleeper it's been a huge change for me. It feels weird.
Is this change in sleeping patterns normal? Should I be concerned about how heavily I'm sleeping now?
