I seem to be experiencing an odd and quite uncomfortable symptom of not feeling full no matter how much I eat (unless I quite literally eat myself to nausea). I'm certainly getting enough calories, upwards of 3000 due to needing to gain weight.
I do have hypogylcemia so that certainly could be playing a part in terms of increasing hunger, however I eat low carb and frequent meals and allot of calories from protein and fat which should be quite satiating. My stomach rarely feels full after meals. I've sort of felt this at times for a while now and had an endoscopy about 6 months ago, which didn't suggest any problems. It doesn't look like there are any particular diagnostics or treatments beyond frequent smaller meals generally high in fat and fiber if tolerated.
I also get constipation quite a bit, and the odd thing is the 'emptier' I am in terms of having bowels movements, the more this sensation of a lack of fullness occurs. I currently deal with allot of gut issues and chronic fatigue syndrome so the origin may be there.
I would concede it does seem very odd. Supplement wise I'm not sure whether it's wise to include HCL and enzymes under the idea that this might speed things up further. Or perhaps it allows for more complete digestion which would help things, rather than fast, somewhat undigested food indicated by rapid stomach emptying. My n=1 experiments with these supplements hasn't convinved me either way.
I also wonder if my stomach is somewhat expanding slightly to accomodate more food as I've increased calories. Certainly not a thought I can back up scientifically.
Any thoughts?
