There are a couple related threads but I am just after group opinion through numbers. I would put a poll in if I could, give me a yes/no to fasting and/or exercise. Thank you!
To me, it depends on how you feel. For a slight head cold, sometimes increased body heat can actualy help kill germs. Germs like normal body temperature. That is why the body likes to create a mild fever when fighting more stubborn infections. You can simulate this with a quick body temp rising workout (but don't over do it) and sometimes you will feel better afterward. But I would only suggest this for mild colds for which you still feel reasonably energetic for the most part. Head colds often fit that bill. But if you feel like crap and don't feel like working out, then don't. Some people like to try a sauna treatment instead of a workout. If you already have a fever, ie a more serious cold, then just rest and try to keep yourself comfortable.
For food,again I listen to my body. I think for natural issues like this, the body knows best. I eat if I feel hungry and unless the illness is intestinal, then I eat what I feel like eating and to the amount that seems right, with the caveat that I keep the food healthy. This is no time to cheat! If the illness is intestinal, then I typically won't feel like eating anyway. I figure this is not a time to challenge my body, so if it wants food then I give it food. If it doesn't, it will tell me by making me not feel like eating.
And definitely get all the sleep that your body requests, which will probably be more than normal, and overall try to take it easy if you feel tired.
Eat broth based soups, skip the working out but still let yourself move, look into doing some hydrotherapy, stay the hell away from dairy and sleep and sleep and sleep. I find herbal teas are delightful when I'm sick. I also up my vitamin d, take zinc, and take some tinctures. Coconut water is delightful when sick, but I'm rarely in the mood to open a coconut at that point. Some people argue for the eating of white rice when sick. The overall point is to be nice to your digestive system. Don't eat dank stuff. Fast for up to 16 hours, but I wouldn't go for much longer.
No working out until a day after the fever passes,no need to further stress your body, it is busy. By work out I mean something that takes special effort, not normal activity.

This is one issue that I think it's useful to refer back to what our ancestors would have done. I doubt they would have snuggled up under the duvet with a sugar laden lemsip. I believe that they may have taken things a bit more slowly, slept and rested a bit more, but certainly wouldn't take activity down to negligible levels, and would probably not have changed their eating pattern either.
So I'd say - work out, perhaps not as strenuously as normal. And eat normally (including if you want to fast). Eva's comment to sleep more is definitely sage advice too.
I felt a cold coming on a few weeks ago, and started taking Vitamin C, a lot of Vitamin D (up to 10,000 IU a day), and drinking tons of water. I also had a teaspoon of Coconut Oil a few times a day. I didn't work out for the first few days and slept more. When I did start working out, I did yoga - it was tough but not in a run-like-a-bandit-on-a-treadmill kind of way.
I do think all of these things helped though (or it could have been just because I'm a bit healthier now that I eat Paleo) - the cold lasted about a week (typical) but was definitely weaker than previous colds.
Do not work out. Your body needs to use it's energy to repair and fight off cold. I would also check into Oil of Oregano supplement. Very powerful antiviral, antibacterial. Chicken and/or beef broth, like Grandma's used to say, will be helpful too.
