Many Paleo eaters here eat certain items in fairly large quantities. Part of that I think is a defense mechanism against eating the 'forbidden foods'. Part of it is also just that some foods that are hallowed as almost sacred in the Paleosphere are so frickin delicious and nutrient rich that we get a little overzealous when it comes to our feelings about it. Feelings? About food? Dang straight. You all know what I'm talking about.
Eggs. Butter. Cream. Beef. Cheese. Coconut ... etc.
We know that Dr Harris eats copious amounts of butter and cream, and that Chris Masterjohn and Chris Kresser eat their fair share of eggs. We know that Stephan Guyenet 'will slam 3 potatoes a day no problem'.
For me, I choose to believe that butter and cream have fallen right out of heaven and into my fridge. Most of my fats come from those 2 sources, but I also could eat a steak basically every day. I almost never tire of it.
I do eat a wide variety of foods, not just my favorites, but I'll admit that sometimes I wonder if eating heavier amounts of a certain narrow group of foods will come back to bite us in 10-15 years from now in a way that we are not able to forsee at this time.
What foods might you be overconsuming, and do you worry about it?
