Yes there is ......Resveratrol and quercetin are chemical cousins which in combination prevent the growth of or facilitate the apoptosis of 3T3-L1 fat cells. We actually have biologic proof that it works. I take a boat load of it a day and it is a staple in my type two diabetics for this reason and the the fact it can halve your insulin doses in two weeks. NIH is studying this polyphenol in a large trial that should be released in 2011 or early 2012. Its a great thing and naturally found in Wines that are non pesticide treated and stressed grapes. Two good sources are Argentine Malbec's (grapes grown at 14K feet and closer to sun) and French burgundies (very difficult growing conditions). Bad news......most Cali reds have low levels due to pesticide farming. There are exceptions like Mike Neal on Howell Mountain!
