Which "traditional Brazilian dishes" (aside from just the skewers of meat) that are paleo friendly? What do you recommend trying?

Moqueca (fish stew) is awesome. There are a number of different variations, all of which are paleo. Sometimes it's served on top of rice, but that's easy enough to omit.

I'be made it with coconut milk to make it creamy. Yum. – PaleoDavid Mar 23 2011 at 19:17

I'm pretty sure plantains are considered traditional Brazilian fare (they're served at our local Brazilian steakhouse). I made my first green plantains at home the other day - just sliced up the fruit and pan fried it in lard with a bit of salt and pepper. They were divine!!

Ooooh yeah. Just make sure they aren't fried in nasty vegetable oil. A lot of Brazilians use palm oil, which is right on. – gone2croatan Mar 23 2011 at 19:13
