I watched this video last week and gave it a try! I think it works, but it was hard to tell because I didn't boil my eggs long enough- I blew soft-boiled egg all over the office of my Crossfit gym :( Anyone else tried it & had any luck?

The baking soda in the water is the key. I have blown my eggs (that just sounds SOOOO wrong) before and been successful with this method but I have found that as long as I add baking soda to the water they are super easy to just peel normally so I tend to just do that. |

going to try this, but, I don't find skinning eggs as painful as this guy. If you take the egg out of the boiling water and put it in cold water directly, the shell comes away pretty easily - having long thumbnails helps skin eggs too. |

Tried, failed. Part of the issue is fresh eggs, but I still have problems with older eggs. The other issue with this, of course, is you only want to do this with eggs you eat. Not sure how others would feel about eating eggs you just spit all over... :) Best luck I've had is to crack the egg all over, tear off the big end, then hold under a light stream of water and try to use that to work in between the shell and the egg. You just have to be careful with egg shell fragments in the sink. They'll get trapped in the bend in the drain pipe since they're heavy. |

I blow into one end to separate the egg from the shell, and it works slick. But that was just too funny! Got to try it next time I steam my eggs. |

Success story here. Not always thought. Try experimenting with different boiling times to see what works for your eggs. Advocated by paleo peez too ! http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/low-carb-diets/great-way-to-peel-boiled-eggs/ |
