I ate too much fats at one sitting--now I feel sick to my stomach. I tried ginger ...any other suggestions? Would digestive enzymes help?

I drank an entire quart of raw cream one night, after eating three full meals that day. We needed to get it used up, and I didn't have time to make butter, and it tasted great, so I didn't stop to think about how many calories I was slamming down. I woke up that night with some fierce acid reflux (which I normally never get without eating refined carbs) and feeling vaguely wired and unable to relax. I guess 3500 calories on top of a full stomach isn't a smart bedtime snack! I drank some water, but mostly I felt like I'd better not try to get anything else down. I just sat up (to help the reflux) and waited it out a few hours until my body seemed to catch up to it. |

I think they're more effective at the beginning of the meal, but I doubt it will hurt to try! Hope ya feel better. |

I have also done this - it feels terrible. I drank a lot of water with lemon to flush out the system a little. I think you just have to wait it out - but at least you know now for next time what too much in one sitting is. |

What happened to it making you super-hyper? :) http://paleohacks.com/questions/24666/wired-on-coconut-oil#axzz1HWSrwV85 My stomach aches when I eat straight-up coconut oil, too. Do you feel like moving around? Perhaps if you take a walk, it'll help you digest it? Maybe use some of that lump of energy that's sitting like a rock in your tum right now? I'm sipping some peppermint tea right now due to tummy upset, actually. It's my go-to for tummy aches. It's also super delicious, which doesn't hurt. :) |

I have taken 6 tablespoons in one sitting with no problems. When I try to do that with butter though, it's a whole different story. |

Wait it out. A couple of big tablespoons of the stuff does it to me. I'd say it takes less than 12 hours, but your body will "handle" it accordingly. |

NZ kiwi fruit (aka Chinese Gooseberries) are acidic and if you eat a few they clean out your plumbing pronto. Young fresh ginger sliced thin on your tongue can help your taste buds feel cleansed. Drink water and herbal tea. |
