Ok so its a pretty pointless question, but sadly curiosity overpowered me. So basically how old is everyone on here. I'm 17, perhaps on of the youngest or is there anyone my age?

I suppose there might be a few that will want it closed since its not really relevant, so I'll ask at what age did you start paleo or the new evolutionary diet, primal blueprint or whatever you want to call this lifestyle and how long have you been following it?

I'm 29...bout to be 30 in a few months. I started eating Paleo, about 85%/15%, 3 weeks ago. I WISH I would've started 10 years ago, but hindsight is 20/20, so they say.

well i'm 5"2' and tiny, much shorter than you. But hey, it's not gonna hold me up, because I'm not gonna let my "shortness" dictate my life. I don't reckon I'm gonna grow any more, but hey it's not that bad - don't worry. – paleoboy Mar 24 2011 at 21:19

I'll be 27 tomorrow. I've been 80/20 (more like 90/10) for about 14 months. Having a big slice of cake tomorrow and some ice cream, but back to paleo after that.

22 and Primal for about 7 weeks. Do use the 80/20 but am probably closer to a 90/10. Am almost always in control of my own food. Began while researching how to get the ---- off Protonix (a PPI and a huge pharmaceutical moneymaker) and everything (except my doctor's advice) started to point me in the direction of primal eating. Instantly relieved of any and all symptoms of "acid reflux". Only twice have I had very small portions of breaded meat. The first time was a sort of "test" while eating at an Italian family friend's who uses only very quality ingredients (no need to worry about terrible off-balance oils, additional sugars, manager's special beef - etc). At the time, I did not feel like putting up the fight and explaining the new lifestyle I was experimenting with, and figured it was time to see what the effects would be. Digestive system was NOT happy and protested for the rest of the night - just overall discomfort, inflammation, you name it. Had probably one half of a breaded chicken breast last weekend while extremely hungry at a family gathering, but had a big ass salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegarette and did not feel TOO much discomfort. No plans of returning from Primal though. I have had a better mood, more productivity at work, SO much more energy while exercising (primally!), etc. I find it is hard to not want to spread the good word - but I figure I will wait for people to ask for the source of my physical and mental results instead of forcing it on them. I would say GO FOR IT. You will just know what being healthier feels like. I ended up primal due to my own frustration about being a medicated 22 year old (that still had an insane amount of discomfort and weird side effects) and after a little intense Googling, I was primal. I read somewhere that someone described the change as some mix between a second puberty and a spiritual rebirth and I agree wholeheartedly. Good luck!

I'm 26. I've been Paleo since December, though have been researching it since probably last summer, when I was trying to figure out how to not be so sick all the time. My 26th birthday present to myself was to give up vegetarianism. Best gift I've ever gotten. :)

27 here...Primal (still a little dairy, a little white rice, occasional dark chocolate) for about 5 months, WAPF for about 6 months before that. Lost 60lbs on a low calorie, high carb diet and running like a crazy person for about a year and a half before WAPF until I hit a wall and screwed up my hormones and emotional health...long journey basically

Great question. Don't doubt yourself in this community. Good people.

Almost 35 and have been working toward a cleaner, tighter Paleo for about 18 months. I'm about 90/10 on a daily basis and feeling very good, better than I have in years after ruining my gut with loads of grains, dairy and stress. I introduced probiotics at the beginning of this year, which I think have really helped my progress. Best wishes to you.

  1. Diagnosed with Celiac disease August 2009; began CrossFit December 2009, Paleo for 3 months. Was diagnosed in January in Refractory Celiac, so not absorbing any better than when I gave up gluten/dairy. Going Paleo to see if it makes a difference!!

I'm 49. I started shifting toward WAPF around 1999 and shifted toward paleo in Oct 2003, becoming more strictly paleo about 3 or 4 years after that.
