Ok so its a pretty pointless question, but sadly curiosity overpowered me. So basically how old is everyone on here. I'm 17, perhaps on of the youngest or is there anyone my age?

I suppose there might be a few that will want it closed since its not really relevant, so I'll ask at what age did you start paleo or the new evolutionary diet, primal blueprint or whatever you want to call this lifestyle and how long have you been following it?

Oh dear now I feel old. I was 40 yesterday. I was doing "clean" ie no adds, preserves, numbers for 2 years prior and on 26th January this year I started Paleo after seeing the dramatic changes to my mum and her best friend after 2 weeks and 4 weeks respectively.

I started because I have an autoimmune disorder which has killed my thyroid (half removed) but the weight loss has been amazing. I have already decided the no gluten way is totally working for me as my the inflammation in my hands and feet went away.

The best part is the idea is catching on to the rest of my family. My husband 41 has joined me and my daughter who is 13 too but she cheats a lot especially with chocolate and noodles. My baby is 2 and she is picky and cheats when she sees her sister doing it but otherwise she is happy to pick off my plate.

My mum who started it two weeks before me is 64 and her friend is 68. They look hot for their age and they are more active than me.

My cousin did it too late last year and he is 38. He was a beer drinker and lost half his body weight and did not tell us he was doing paleo. He said he quit beer but when we all came out with what we were doing he came clean and said it was actually paleo.

My other cousins wife 37 (a doctor) did it after having her second baby and immediately she lost her fatness and looks like she did before they got married. Her cross fit routine is running after a 3 year old!

17 is a great age to start because you have the opportunity to get your life started off on the right foot. It will give you the chance to live longer and healthier. Good on you.

52 in a week. Man, I'm a geezer!

I am feeling better today than I've felt since my 20's, maybe even teens.

Paleo for just over 1 year - low carb/Atkins/Protein Power before that. Actually it was Eades and then Tom Naughton that turned me on to Primal/Paleo (and the low carb forums).

Hmm, I wonder if there is a poll option, that way we'd have some visual data (e.g. percentages). Yeah ... I'm a nerd like that.

21 by the way, I'll be 22 next month. Paleo since January 2011.

Me: 57. Feeling great, like I've been in training for this time of my life. Maybe because I have been. I plan to peak around, oh, 86, and then settle into a sweet plateau.

All of you who are way younger than my current age, keep on this road. You'll live to be 120 and be doing amazing stuff. Those of you who are 30 and complaining, please stop being ridiculous. You 40-year-olds heard moaning about "getting old," shape up or I'm coming over to make noise in your front yard. As for the person in his 50s who self-identified as a "geezer," all I can urge you to do is look up Ellen Langer's "counterclockwise" study where men in their 70s agreed to live for a week as if they were 20 years younger. All showed significant improvement along a range of biophysical markers.

C'mon, gang. The very fact that we're here, means some light is on. Don't let it go out. By the way, check out the no-longer-full-but-no-less-amazing Moon tonight. Gorgeous here in California.

I will be 40 in June and hopefully I will reach my goal of doing 4 unassisted pull-ups by then :) but I will settle for just one! Been paleo for one year, through a wedding, a cheat filled honeymoon and holiday season, but now I am totally there!

I'm 41 (the oldest so far?). Been low-carb on-and-off -- enough to lose some weight and maintain it and keep my blood sugar from spiking often, but not consistent enough to lose the last extra weight -- for a decade or so. Focusing on low-carb alone led me to eating too many nuts, especially peanuts and peanut butter, plus some artificial sweeteners. I think the high omega-6 levels and artificial stuff caused inflammation and other issues, including a ravenous appetite no matter how much I ate, so over the last several months I've been eliminating those things and transitioning to more of a paleo (PaNu) approach.

So far so good. New projects for this summer include: making tallow from our own grass-fed beef fat; more time spent foraging for berries, mushrooms, and other wild (free) foods; preserving more of our own food, including fermented stuff; and expanding our egg-laying flock.

27 years young, and I literally just hit my one-year paleoversary. Yee-haw!

I normally don't admit this until someone has guessed my age about 7-10 years younger than I am, but I'm 41 and started the paleo path in November upon learning about phyto-estrogen, raw soy, and "How we used to eat." According to a lot of things I researched, modern diseases (i.e. cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.) started popping up when unsprouted grains and refined sugars entered the mainstream diet around 1920. So, that started me on the "no unsprouted grains" kick to go along with no artificial sweeteners, no MSG, no HFCS, no crappy oils and more, that I had been accumulating since my teen years. Paleo/whole foods/natural has straightened out some major systems for me. IBS, wacky menstrual cycles, fibromyalgia and migranes are either gone or significantly reduced. Seriously. No grains other than Eucharist, no chocolate - except on holidays - and one cappuccino a week after Mass on Sunday, and I feel great.

Now, with fresh fruit and vegetable season coming up, how to justify making the vats of strawberry and peach preserves and how to primally make apple pie....

I am 52....just started Paleo a month ago. But have been gluten and dairy free for two years. I started because of the physical ailments I was experiencing...migraines, a lifetime of IBS, Chronic Fatigue.....all taken care of without the gluten and dairy. I have gone Paleo because this lifestyle includes the beans, corn and the rice, or rather doesn't include them. I seemed to still be getting 'sick' and now do not have any problems without all grains and beans. Really happy and young!

43 years young! I started my diet changing journey about 20 years ago. In those days we didn't call it Paleo or Primal. It is great to see such a change in mainstream interest and acceptance of 'healthy eating' and lifestyle!

Keep up the great work and always keep learning ;-) ~jgirl
