Oh dear now I feel old. I was 40 yesterday. I was doing "clean" ie no adds, preserves, numbers for 2 years prior and on 26th January this year I started Paleo after seeing the dramatic changes to my mum and her best friend after 2 weeks and 4 weeks respectively.
I started because I have an autoimmune disorder which has killed my thyroid (half removed) but the weight loss has been amazing. I have already decided the no gluten way is totally working for me as my the inflammation in my hands and feet went away.
The best part is the idea is catching on to the rest of my family. My husband 41 has joined me and my daughter who is 13 too but she cheats a lot especially with chocolate and noodles. My baby is 2 and she is picky and cheats when she sees her sister doing it but otherwise she is happy to pick off my plate.
My mum who started it two weeks before me is 64 and her friend is 68. They look hot for their age and they are more active than me.
My cousin did it too late last year and he is 38. He was a beer drinker and lost half his body weight and did not tell us he was doing paleo. He said he quit beer but when we all came out with what we were doing he came clean and said it was actually paleo.
My other cousins wife 37 (a doctor) did it after having her second baby and immediately she lost her fatness and looks like she did before they got married. Her cross fit routine is running after a 3 year old!
17 is a great age to start because you have the opportunity to get your life started off on the right foot. It will give you the chance to live longer and healthier. Good on you.
