Just heard Taubes do an NPR interview.
Given his prodigious talent as a writer, he is surprisingly bad at communicating his work in interviews. Is there anyone out there who makes a better case against the SAD? (Preferably not in book format.)
I came to Paleo because Robb Wolf made me laugh. It seems like so many people become crusaders and lose perspective and humor. He still has his and is realistic about how people are really going to eat.
That is what sold me.
The obvious answer is Tom Naughton. He is funny, a great speaker and knows how to talk science to a 2 year old child! He can break down science like no other.
There's a podcast called "This Week in Paleo" that I love! I think it's really well done. Robb Wolf's podcast is also great but it's strictly in a question and answer format.
I have attended one of Robb Wolf's workshops and I can tell you first hand that he knows his stuff! He's educated, experienced and well spoken. In fact I would say that he is the de facto leader of the paleo movement.
Thinking of it strickly in terms of the websites - I think you can target your audience. When I recommend websites to folks, the scientifically minded normally get Cordain. Sission/MDA seems to be the most accessable and more the 'everymans' source and Robb Wolf strikes me as a comfortable mix of the two.
Try this one -- Taubes is HUMBLE, HILARIOUS, BRAINYHAWWWT, LEGIT AND ACCESSIBLE. And he only wrote THE seminal, LANDMARK book on paradoxes, bad science (B.S.), nutrition and politics. Personally I think it tops WAPF's NAPD (just barely)....
Jorge, the abs guy, is interviewing Taubes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85F2rPxextk
Robb isn't conceited. Does that say a lot? I concur-- Robb Wolf is HANDS DOWN the de facto leader of the optimal human lifestyle because he is one of us. Deluded by the USDA and physicians, disillusioned, gone through the ringer (e.g. health, gut), healed and learning MUCHO along the way and generously sharing. Wolf is better than 120% of the physicians, academics and fitness leaders out there IMHO. Again, and he's not conceited, totally funny and has a savant brain. Hopefully more vids will come out w/Robb... OMG he's SOOO GOOD!!!
Robb wolf without a shadow of a doubt, I really like Melissa Mcewen (hunter gather love) too, she talks alot of sense and is obviously intelligent. Diane Sanfilippo (balance bites) has good info too. I loved Melissa's review of the new evolution diet. She seems very honest and informed and as with Robb Wolf I don't think there is any danger of her "selling out".
Jimmy Moore and his low carb podcast deserve a mention here. He frequently interviews prominent members of the low carb community as well as some not-so-popular characters. He posts a new podcast twice a week and has already interviewed the likes of Wolf, Sisson, Lalonde, Durant, Taubes, and etc.
